Peer Training Series: Burnout & Self Care

September 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
In this training, participants gain practical tools to protect their well-being while remaining effective and engaged in demanding, mission-driven work. Self-Care & Burnout explores the relationship between mission-driven work, chronic stress, workplace expectations, and burnout. Participants examine “suffer culture,” where long hours and personal sacrifice may become associated with dedication and professional value. The training also explores the “tyranny of urgency” and its impact on rest, priorities, and healthy boundaries. Participants will also learn practical, proactive, and reactive self-care strategies to help maintain work-life balance and prevent burnout.
Learning Objectives:
  • Understand the importance of self-care and how to practice it both proactively and reactively.
  • Explain the concept of “suffer culture” in non-profit, mission driven work.
  • Learn how to explore boundaries as part of a comprehensive self-care plan.
